Franz von Assisi. Neue Biographie

This fifth edition feels thoroughly researched, and the way it traces Francis’s journey from wealthy merchant’s son to the “pobrecillo” really brings the man to life. The chapters on his embrace of poverty and his care for creation are the kind you’ll want to reread. I’ve already lent it to a friend

I’ve been reading through this new biography slowly, and the depth of research on St. Francis’s early years really stands out. The fifth edition’s paperback binding feels sturdy enough for daily use, which I appreciate.

The fifth edition is beautifully laid out, with a readable font size that makes the deep spiritual journey of St. Francis easy to follow. I've already learned several new details about his life that I hadn't seen in other biographies.
