My nephew was immediately drawn to the adventure format, and the way it handles such a heavy historical topic through a child's perspective is truly thoughtful. The storytelling makes the saints' courage feel accessible without being preachy.

My 9-year-old usually gets bored with saint stories, but the way this one is written like an adventure kept him asking for one more chapter. The subject matter is heavy since it's about two young martyrs in World War II, yet it's handled gently enough for kids.

I read this aloud to my kids over three nights and they kept begging for one more chapter. The story of the two little martyrs is told like an adventure, so the heavier history never felt scary or dry for them.
